Miss Lizzy’s Traveling Historical Fashion Show Presents

A chance to view and examine in detail authentic Victorian dresses from as early as the 1860's onward! Look at sewing techniques, garment details, repairs, pattern-matching (or lack thereof!), evaluate inside linings, seams, stays and darts, buttons and buttonholes, necklines, asymmetric closures, trim and fabric manipulation, and how dresses achieved a fashionable silhouette and style. Some accessories will also be spotlighted (*cough* beaded reticules *cough*) as well as many cabinet cards and cartes-de-visites of the time, quilts and quilt blocks (they make amazing fabric reference libraries), and historical sewing notions. It will be eye-opening!
