Newcomers Guide

First time onboard?

To start off, welcome to your first journey with TeslaCon! We want to be as inclusive as possible to all of our guest and this especially extends to our newcomers. Our close-knit community came together to provide a helpful guide of "need-to-know" information to make the most out of your upcoming new experience!

You may purchase full weekend passes until October 18th. After that all passes must be bought at the door including Daily passes. These are not limited and have rates varying by day. Daily tickets will be sold at registration.

Registration accepts cash only. There are 2 ATMs in the hotel, but we advise guest to venture out Saturday/Sunday when the ATMs onsite become empty!

This year TeslaCon will have a dance on Saturday night. The night will have a corresponding theme dinner you can partake in (separate ticket is needed for dinner event).

Convention schedules and hotel maps are posted around the convention areas. Panel rooms will have a list of events occurring in that room updated daily. We will also a change area for things that have been re-scheduled.

The venue hotel usually becomes fully booked. There are several nearby hotels that do participate in the TeslaCon discount rate so look at the Hotel page! You can see where they are located and the prices they are offering.

Sign up early for the many makers classes that will be offered this year. Our hope is to start early enough and give everyone a chance to finish their project during the convention.

We encourage dressing up (steampunk, fantasy, formalwear, etc.) for the weekend, but this is not mandatory. Hit up a thrift store for starters, browse our Dealers Rooms to add!

Our programming is designed to give people small breaks between panels. Most panels last 1:30 minutes. Basically an hour for the talk, 15 minutes for Q&A then 15 minutes to have the next panel setup. This year we will have a lunch and dinner break built in also.

Children 5 years and under get in free. Children between the age 6 and 12 receive a weekend discounted rate. Most panels are family-friendly with the exception of those for a mature audience (disclaimer will be noted).

We understand that our newcomers will have a lot of questions. For guest services (tickets, hotels, or other concerns), feel free to email or private message on social media. For general community questions, you may find our Facebook group TeslaCon Fans.

TeslaCon strives to be an immersive convention. We have an Interactive Timeline in the About section of our website to help bring you up to speed for what has happened and what will happen this year.

We've got a semi-official Discord channel and the invite link is here for anyone who wants to chat before or during TeslaCon:  https://discord.gg/KZyyNkF.
